It is a matter of course and mandatory for KlimaLink to collect, transmit, store and otherwise process data of our members and partners as well as personal data collected via our website in accordance with the applicable regulations for the protection of personal data only for the purpose of contract processing and to protect our own legitimate interests. 2. Collection, storage and processing of personal data and purpose of use

The following information is collected from members of KlimaLink e.V. (natural or legal persons) when they join the association:

a) As part of a membership

  • Salutation, title, first name, surname
  • address
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone number (landline and / or mobile)
  • Fax number (if available & requested)

The collection of personal data takes place,

  • to be able to identify you as a member;
  • to be able to advise you appropriately;
  • to address our offers to you within the framework of the co-operation with the association;
  • in order to fulfil our legal obligations:
  • for correspondence with you;
  • for invoicing or, if necessary, in the context of the dunning process;
  • to assert any claims against you.

We store the above-mentioned data of our members for the purpose of preparing and processing projects and events in accordance with the statutory objectives of KlimaLink e.V. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1b of the GDPR.

b) Data of interested parties for membership

We collect and process personal data such as the surname, first name, address, telephone number and email address of representatives of companies interested in becoming a KlimaLink member. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 f GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purpose of preparing and concluding new memberships for the KlimaLink association.

c) Data when making contact

We offer you the option of contacting us by e-mail or telephone. Data processing is based on the content of your enquiry. Transmitted data such as e-mail address, telephone number and address will only be used for the agreed professional co-operation. Data will not be used for any other purposes and will not be passed on. The legal basis for processing is Article 6 (1) sentence 1b GDPR and Article 6 (1) sentence 1f GDPR.

d) Data of applicants in the application procedure

We collect and process the personal data of persons who apply for a job at KlimaLink for the purpose of handling the application process. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 88 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 of the Federal Data Protection Act. Processing may also be carried out electronically. This is particularly the case if an applicant sends us the relevant application documents by email. If we conclude a contract with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the contractual relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions.

e) When registering for the KlimaLink newsletter (not yet possible)

If you have given your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 a GDPR, we will use your e-mail address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. You can only receive the KlimaLink newsletter if you have a valid email address, have registered to receive the newsletter and have provided your email address.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you entered for the newsletter mailing using the double opt-in procedure. This confirmation e-mail is used to check whether the owner of the e-mail address has authorised the receipt of the newsletter.

Our newsletter is sent via the service provider Clever Reach, to whom we pass on the email addresses of the recipients. The personal data collected when registering for the newsletter will be used by KlimaLink e.V. and Clever Reach exclusively for sending our newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. You can find Clever Reach's privacy policy here.

Subscribers to the newsletter may be informed by e-mail if this is necessary for the operation of the newsletter service or a registration in this regard. This may be the case in the event of changes to the newsletter service or changes in technical circumstances.

You can cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time. You can revoke your consent to the storage of personal data at any time. There is a corresponding link in the footer of each newsletter for the purpose of cancelling or withdrawing consent. You also have the option of informing the controller of your cancellation by other means, for example by sending an email to info@klimalink.org.

3. information about your computer, cookies and analytics services

a) When visiting the Klimalink.org website

When you visit our website klimalink.org, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is stored in a so-called log management system. The following information is recorded and stored until it is deleted:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file,
  • Website from which the access is made (referrer URL),
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer
We process the aforementioned data for the following purposes:


  • Ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
  • To ensure a comfortable use of our website,
  • Evaluation of system security and stability and
  • for further administrative purposes.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

b) Cookies

We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Information is stored in the cookie that results in each case in connection with the specific end device used. However, this does not mean that we obtain direct knowledge of your identity.

On the one hand, the use of cookies serves to make the use of our website more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognise that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our site. On the other hand, we use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and for the purpose of optimising our offer (see section 3 c.). c) Google Analytics

The KlimaLink website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website such as

  • Browser type/version,
  • operating system used,
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
  • Time of the server request,

will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

d) Google Maps

The futouris.org website uses Google Maps API to visualise geographical information. When Google Maps is used, Google also collects, processes and utilises data about the use of the Maps functions by visitors to the website. There you can change your settings in the data protection centre so that you can manage and protect your data.

e) Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour. If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad programme, you will not have to expect any such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personalised usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser. f) Facebook

KlimaLink uses Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). The KlimaLink Facebook page is linked to the KlimaLink website.

When you visit the KlimaLink Facebook page, a connection is established between your browser and the Facebook servers. Data is already transferred to Facebook in the process. If you have a Facebook account, this data can be linked to it. If you do not wish this data to be linked to your Facebook account, please log out of Facebook before visiting our site. Interactions, in particular the use of a comment function or clicking on a "Like" or "Share" button, are also passed on to Facebook. You can find out more here.

4. No disclosure of personal data

We do not pass on your personal data to third parties unless you have consented to the passing on of data, this is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract concluded between you and us or we are authorised or obliged to pass on data on the basis of statutory provisions and/or official or court orders. In particular, this may involve the disclosure of information for the purposes of criminal prosecution, defence against danger or the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

5. Deletion or blocking of the data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes stated here or for the various storage periods stipulated by law. Once the respective purpose no longer applies or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Data of persons who have applied to us as employees will be deleted 3 months after completion of the application process if no contract is concluded with the applicant, unless deletion conflicts with any other legitimate interests on our part. Other legitimate interest in this sense is, for example, a burden of proof in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

6. Rights of data subjects

You can exercise the following rights at any time using the contact details provided for our data protection officer:

  • Information about your data stored by us and its processing,
  • Correction of incorrect personal data,
  • Deletion of your data stored by us,
  • Restriction of data processing if we are not yet allowed to delete your data due to legal obligations,
  • Objection to the processing of your data by us and data portability, provided that you have consented to the data processing or have concluded a contract with us.

If you have given us your consent, you can revoke it at any time with effect for the future. You can contact the supervisory authority responsible for you at any time with a complaint. Your competent supervisory authority depends on the federal state of your place of residence, your work or the alleged infringement.
